The reigning Naismith Defensive Player of the Year averaged 25.3 / 6.9 / 5.2 / 5.6 (points, rebounds, assists, steals) - the only DI player since 1999-00 to clear β₯25/5/5/5 over a full season. Around her: portal additions Anaya Hardy (Louisville) and Madison "Nat" St. Rose (Princeton) plus a No. 1 HS class headlined by McDonald's All-Americans Jacy Abii and Jenica Lewis. Quiet day on the lacrosse calendar after Saturday's quarterfinal win. The Irish have five days to prep for No. 6 Syracuse in Charlottesville on Saturday - same Syracuse team that just took down No. 3 North Carolina 13-11 to punch their ticket. The other semifinal slot gets filled today: Princeton-Penn State and Georgetown-Duke quarterfinals in Newark.
Quick refresher on the path: Josh Yago (4G/3A) and Tyler Spano (13-of-21 at the X, 10 ground balls) carried Saturday's 15-9 win over Johns Hopkins at Hofstra. Third championship weekend in four years. Irish move to 12-2.

- Baseball opens ACC Tournament play tomorrow. No. 10 seed Notre Dame faces No. 15 seed Clemson Tuesday May 19 at 5 p.m. ET at Truist Field in Charlotte. Single-elimination format through the first round; winner gets Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals Thursday/Friday. The Irish ride in on 11 wins in their last 12 - the best stretch of any team in the country during that window - after Saturday's 21-10 broom-finale over Pitt.

Slow-build offseason phase for the Scalley era. He's framed May as the tell - "whether or not they want to be elite" - with development now in the players' hands. Spring closed in good health, minimal injuries despite live-rep emphasis. OL under Jordan Gross was the most visible spring step forward; Devon Dampier's command of McGiven's offense remains the offseason variable. Daniel Bray is competing for RB2 reps behind Wayshawn Parker. Sept. 3 vs. Idaho is the opener; Sept. 26 at Iowa State is the Big 12 tone-setter. Late-May visit weekend brings ~50 prospects for Scalley's first 2027 class.
Upcoming:
- Sept. 3 - vs. Idaho (season opener, Rice-Eccles)
- Sept. 26 - at Iowa State (Big 12 opener)

USA National Team coach Steve Arkell joined as bars coach; Olympic silver medalist Grace McCallum is on as Student Assistant. The 2027 signing class is anchored by five-star Bailey Stroud, Canadian National Team's Gabrielle Black, four-star Ayla Miller, and rising Madison Denlinger.
Upcoming: 2027 season begins in January.
πAround the Program

Summer is the offseason heat point now. Julian Sayin is QB1 for 2026 with Jeremiah Smith back for Year 3 and four of five OL starters returning. USA Today's post-spring top 25 has OSU No. 1, ahead of Notre Dame. Recruiting: the 2026 class signed in at No. 6 nationally; five-star WR Jamier Brown has officially shut down his recruitment, with composite five-stars Chris Henry Jr., Cincere Johnson and Jay Timmons all in the final top 75. The "Tunnel Vision" all-black uniforms are back (first since 2022). Schedule windows locked: at Texas Sept 12 at 7:30 p.m. on ABC (College GameDay confirmed), vs Michigan Nov 28 at noon on FOX.
Upcoming:
- Sept 5 - vs. Ball State (season opener)
- Sept 12 - at Texas, 7:30 p.m. ABC
- Nov 28 - vs. Michigan, noon FOX
πAround the Program
- Baseball opens Big Ten Tournament tomorrow night - rematch with Washington. No. 6 seed Ohio State (29-23, 18-12 Big Ten) draws No. 11 Washington at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday May 19 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. The Huskies took two of three from OSU during the regular season - each game decided by a single run, two going to extras - so this is the trickiest possible Round-1 draw. The Buckeyes counter with all the momentum: their first sweep at Michigan since 1994 just last weekend (8-1 finale), with Dane Harvey tying the program's single-season home run record on the way.
